Continuous improvement

by Reiss Gunson on Tuesday, 28 February 2017 19:08

one thing i am mindful of is the need to continously evaluate the weakest aspects of our offer

against this backdrop we have some of the best coffee money can buy heading to us all the way from Nordic Approach in Norway; yes we could get on a plane and wander around in foreign fields and post cool snaps to instagram but at the core of londinium is my belief in using specialists; pay them the premium they deserve and get the best in every aspect of the business.  it is only in this way that a small business can compete; time is the most valuable resource

we also need to enhance our website to cope with a post Brexit world as i see it highly likely that we will be exporting to all EU countries tax free by 2019 and then tax and duty will be imposed at the border of the destination country, hence the need for us to develop a delivered duty paid service for our customers

we are also working on developing a complete londinium espresso making system so with one order you will be able to buy absolutely everything you need for exceptional espresso at home

we have lever espressso machines, we have grinders, we have a tamper that is also an excellent grooming tool to level off the coffee prior to tamping

i have a strong aversion to gadgets of any kind, so it is only after years of stuggling without a re-distribution tool that i finally accept the need for one.  it is likely that we will need to offer a coffee captcha style tool with the redistribution tool as it can be a challenge to keep all of the grounds in the portafilter, but that is something we are still working on.  it is likely that we will add the expensive but worth it Acaia lunar scale too as it really is a wonderful tool any pays for itself many times over with time

we are also going to add the espazzola group cleaning tool to our offer as it redefines the benchmark in its category

i am in the process of re-writing the LONDINIUM owner's manual so it is a more professional and easy to comprehend document

now, more than ever before i am confident someone who has never made an espresso in their life will be able to buy the LONDINIUM espresso system and within a week be able to make espresso to the same standard or better as their local cafe.  this is particularly true if you live in a rural area; our machines are designed to be self servicing by any owner who is competent with tools.  So if you were a farmer and used to having to fix all manner of equipment, you will find LONDINIUM lever espresso machines very simple to maintain

In other news, we plan to introduce a delivered duty paid service

by Reiss Gunson on Tuesday, 14 February 2017 23:22

we are in the process of investigating how we need to enhance our website, but my plan is to offer an optional delivered duty paid service for machine purchases

this means that you will have the option to pay us for the duty and tax applicable in your country at the time of purchasing your machine

this in turn means we can ship your machine with a DDP (delivered duty paid) status and it will arrive with you extraorindarily quickly - i am thinking about 3 days for Austalia & New Zealand for instance

as a customer expereince this will be quite incredible i think; very much the next level

as soon as we are capable of offering this functionality we will
