Compak E8, 110V and 240V, with red speed burrs back in stock

by Reiss Gunson on Wednesday, 14 June 2017 23:40

new stock arrived yesterday if you have been waiting

i have removed the R120 from our webstore as i would feel bad to sell someone one of these and then the next day Compak release their new PKE, PKF, and PKR grinders to market

we are told they will not be available until September but lets say we have limited visibility as to when they may appear

Compak assure us that the E8 will continue to be offered so on this basis i am happy to keep it on offer

When we release the LONDINIUM Compact (LC) in 12 months time or so we will need a less expensive grinder to pair with it so we have embarked on an investigation of the Compak E5, E6, E8, and R120 with both objective and subjective assessments and we will publish out findings in due course

As i have said previously i think the Compak Fresh range is a chocolate teapot with more cost giving more complexity and less reliability and ease of use.  Against that backdrop there is no chance we will offer the PKF.  My plan is to offer the PKE (new 83mm high yield flat burrs driven by the E10 motor and mounted in the E10 casing with practical direct crown adjustment on the burrs just like the E10) and PKR (new 100mm high yield flat burrs driven by the R100 motor and mounted in the R100 casing, with a worm gear adjustment on the burrs, annoyingly), but this is subject to how they are priced - i fully expect the PKR to be north of GBP2000 but i might be unduly pessimestic - my expectation is we will offer the PKR instead of the R120, but this decision will be made after we have bench tested it against the R120.  If the E5 measures up as an entry level grinder i would like to pair it with the LC

So that is where we are with Compak at the moment; you know as much as i do
