Got around to doing the seal change yesterday. Easy peasy with the video instructions and now getting good extraction volume with the new seals.

Cheers

Compak E5, what is it & why is it here?

by Reiss Gunson on Thursday, 17 August 2017 20:48

We have introduced the Compak E5 as a sensible grinder that sits above, for example, the Mazzer Mini Electronic in terms of the quality of the grind, the speed of delivery, and the features

Dont think for a minute that it is a Kafetek, or an EK43 - those grinders are in a league of their own for the time being

The Compak E5 is a 'sensible' grinder that you can place in the cart along with the LONDINIUM R and a selection of accessories and receive free shipping on the whole lot anywhere in the world with DHL Express and not be disappointed with the results when you pull an espresso

For example, i despatched this grinder from the UK on Monday 14 August and it was delivered to me this morning, Thursday 17 August on the polar opposite side of the globe in New Zealand; its a small world after all.

This is a grinder that i can confidently say you arent going to be ringing me up disappointed at the performance your purchase; it is a difficult conversation when customers have gone out and purchased a new grinder elsewhere and the moment they tell me what it is i know the source of the problem

We stock the Compak E5 in both 240V & 120V editions so there is one that works for you, where ever you live

We have opted to pay the extra for the optional 275g hopper (instead of the lumping 800g hopper that is standard issue) and also the LED lights that illuminate the portafilter forks, a feature that i have grown to like in the pre-dawn

We currently dont have a super premium grinder but we are patiently awaiting the arrival of the Compak PKR and if it meets our expectations we will add it to our line up

The Compak E8s continue as our 83mm flat burr commercial offering, and for home users who want a commercial grinder

Ambidextrous steam and water fittings on our boilers coming soon

by Reiss Gunson on Monday, 14 August 2017 22:04

If you want a LONDINIUM R with a left hand steam wand and you want us to make the change at the factory you will need to order quickly as we are modifiying our boilers so we have steam and water fittings on both the left and right side of boiler (no other changes)

This allows the same pipes to be used whichever side of the boiler you want your steam wand on

This means that going forward we will only make machines with the steam on the right, but if you want to swap the steam to the left it is a very easy ten minute job with no parts need - just a simple swap of the pipe from one side of the boiler to the other and then swapping the water and steam fittings off the 'T' of each valve body

Continous improvement continues at LONDINIUM - ive waited years to get this change deployed as orders for machines with left steam have always been delayed in getting out the door, which detracts from the purchase experience

Compak E5s are in (and have been for a week, but a communication breakdown!)

If you have been waiting to order a Compak E5 in 110V or 240V now is your chance

I am sweeping a few off for existing customers who have been waiting, so if you want one our of this batch now is your chance

Remember, our Compak E5s come with extra cost LED portfilter lights & the 275g hoppers

This is a great grinder that we would not be offering if we did not think if would show off our LONDINIUM R
