want to eat somewhere in london with a cool vibe this weekend?

get down to story deli pizza in the old truman brewery off brick lane

lee, the proprietor, is completely committed to every item in the shop being organic, right down to the luscombe lemonade

i understand he spent 3 years progressively developing his own pizza base from a mix of organic flours that he imports from italy

at first i found his pizza’s to be quite unusual, but i now appreciate them for what they are; a unique, quality product quite unlike the cheap & nasty offerings that are passed off as ‘pizza’ elsewhere

the ingredients that lee has assembled are truly first class & as a result the finished product tastes remarkably better. that they are also organic is a happy co-incidence.

i dont know where or how lee recruits his team, but they are without exception first class

if you are bored with your usual weekend haunts & are tired of paying over the odds for a mediocre culinary experience you could do a lot worse than amble over to brick lane this weekend

that’s why this guy is booming during the bust

my pick is the chorizo & egg pizza with an organic beer sold under the ‘blonde’ brand
