We bought this coffee as it represents a ‘rite of passage’ for coffee enthusiasts, in the same way that Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee does. It is something you buy for a special occasion to expand your repertoire of coffee tasting experiences

We were surprised to discover that the appearance of the green bean is not significantly different from a ‘normal’ green coffee bean; the beans are slightly lighter in colour than our Sumatran Mandheling and slightly darker than our Java Blawan Estate, but still very much green in colour. We thought the stomach acid of the civet may have bleached the beans slightly, but this does not appear to be the case; the mucilage around the beans was sufficient to protect them from discolouration

This is our cappuccino/latte edition of this roast, meaning we have altered the roast profile to optimise this coffee for preparation as a cappuccino or latte method. We also offer espresso and filter/vacuum editions. Please choose the right coffee for your intended method of preparation as getting the wrong one severely detracts from the enjoyment
