Central America

This region contains a proliferation of coffee producing countries. It is impossible to describe the coffees from this region with a sweeping generalisation as the terroir differs wildly from one country to another, as do cultivation and processing techniques. It is suffice to say that many of the world’s most sought after coffees come from this region.

South America

Brazil tends to come to mind first when you think of the South American producing nations, closely followed by Columbia. Whilst Brazil dominate in volume terms, we don’t mind saying that while the best Brazilian coffee is amongst the best of any origin, there is a lot that is mediocre. Our Peruvian coffee is worth trying if you prefer a more delicate coffee.

Asia

The giant continent, with the potential to become a significant player in the world coffee market in our generation. The monsooned malabar from India will be our first coffee from Asia & arrives on Friday 15 May.

Indonesia

We’ve courted controversy once again and excluded Papua New Guinea from Indonesia (you will find it in the Pacific Islands grouping). Currently our offerings are limited to coffees from the Islands of Java and Sumatra. We would proudly describe our Sumatran as atypical in that it does not exhibit the heavy earthy characteristics associated with almost all Sumatran coffee.

Pacific Islands

In this grouping you will find our island coffees that are dotted across the Pacific like emeralds in a sapphire sky. We appreciate the distinct taste of the Papua New Guinea coffee, the exclusivity of the Galapagos Islands, and the star quality of the famous Hawaiian Kona

Africa

We are ashamed to say that the only African coffee we currently stock is from Ethiopia. We will look to enlarge our range of African coffees during the course of 2009.
