Londinium coffee roasters
Before Londinium I, our spring lever espresso machine, arrives we thought it was a good time to give the factory a bit of an Olympic spruce up. July-August is the window of opportunity in our business as things slacken off a bit as customers take summer holidays. Temperatures are high so we can open all the doors and get a coat of paint on every 2 hours.
Finally we rid ourselves of the scourge of magnolia, that colour on the paint chart that seems universally loved throughout the UK for interiors.
So, our unit is gradually becoming white. I finished all the high level painting on the hoist this morning at 02:30, then spent another hour & a half cleaning up the mess before escaping into the beautiful 'pre-dawn' light of summertime London that only those of us living a bit further away from the equator than we would like get to experience.
Next, environmentalists turn away now, we are going double the number of fluorescent tube lights. While it isn't an issue in high summer, spending long hours in a dimly lit unit is a pretty miserable experience in winter but you put up with it in the early years. Combined with the bright white satin finish paint it will be as bright as an operating theatre this winter. So if you've dropped by in the past and struggled to see your hand in front of your face in gloom you're in for a pleasant surprise - bring your sunglasses, even if we're in the depths of winter.
This should provide a more pleasant reception if you're coming to have a play with Londinium I.
I can also wholeheartedly recommend HSS hire if you need to hire any kind of equipment. For my money you only get to tell whether a person or corporate is any good when things don't go their way. The hoist you see in the image above is ideal for the job we had (it quickly breaks down into 3 components for ease of transport - base, beam, and cage), but there were issues with the batteries charging. HSS to their credit searched around their UK network and rustled up another charger & batteries from Manchester and got it to us before noon on Saturday; that's impressive.
Sometimes your product/service lets customers down, that's life; its how you respond to it that determines whether the customer comes back or not. We'll be going back to HSS.
